Election day!
It's been quite a while since I last wrote a blog, and I must admit that I may be a little rusty, the same goes for my grammar and vocabulary. I just can't help but touch a very sensitive topic that is yet to be brought up in this heated time of the year, politics. Politics in my perspective is a very delicate and complicated topic on which I wish not to be caught up with as it may spark various controversies as opinion in this date of the year is justified by who has shared it, positive or negative. I hope to avoid negative criticism, as though it may be good for me, I do not think I am stable enough to handle such. May 9, 2016 is a memorable day for every Pilipino as it is election day! Various candidates aiming for presidency are sharing their own different methods to govern and change the system of the country for the rise of the economy and the lives of the citizens. Everyone expects so much from these brave and bold candidates since the Philippines is in a state of turmoil. But as amazing and impossible may their method's be for solving the problems of the country, every candidate aims for one thing, change. Do you believe, as a concerned citizen, that one man or woman that aims to be the most powerful person in the country can accomplish such a task? To be quite frank such a thing is impossible, especially with the short period of 6 years and with the risk of impeachment. As the elections come and passes by, people still think that a single individual can actually accomplish a change for the better, relying on the president for such pressure that is supposed to be done by all. Many expect change but refuse to change, fearing the unknown and inevitable as things may seem hard enough as it is to lose too much when you change. Perhaps some have become too accustomed to what they have now, since most are not too happy with having to change. Some as I have mentioned earlier, fear having to lose more than they already have. Change have it's consequences, especially for those in the lower class who have so little, including the voices to stop those who take away their homes and livelihoods for the better of the economy and the city's splendor. It cannot be avoided. It is hard for those who have to stomach such cruelty to their brothers and sisters do their duties without having to break some hearts. But as people are faced with the change they have longed so much for, they slap it away like a fly that had landed on their face. To achieve such impossibility cannot be done by one man alone, people should know that by now, every person must contribute their own in order to affect each other, as kindness and laughter is also contagious, so should change. What would be there for the president if the governed refuse to be governed? What will happen to us if all refuse to cooperate? Every little good thing you do can do so much in their own little way. Instead of taking advantage of those around you, why not help better them with what you have. Share your knowledge and wealth for other people's well-being. In these times it's even hard to trust your neighbor, but who can we blame? People often fail to see the fault in themselves because of pride or dignity, choosing to blame the government. Well, I blame them sometimes but that does not give us a reason to continue doing so. My father raised me to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord and the Law, and so should others. Poverty and a lack of a silver spoon is not an excuse to commit crime and sin, it is what we do with the gift of life that determines us. Can you picture the future of our country from now? Is it horrible? Then change. Imagine a world where your children are free from the fear of being mugged or kidnapped, so start to make a difference. Cooperate, do what is right and proper.
Change.
